Connect Zoom¶
Outcome¶
Threadory will receive selected Zoom cloud recordings, transcripts, and AI Companion summaries as meeting entities.
Before you begin¶
- an administrator or owner role in the Threadory project;
- a Zoom Marketplace Server-to-Server OAuth app with cloud recording and meeting summary scopes activated on the target Zoom account;
- Cloud Recording and audio transcript generation enabled for hosts you care about (otherwise meetings arrive hollow);
- a safe meeting filter defined in advance when the Zoom account is shared across several Threadory projects.
Connection profile¶
| Item | Minimum or expected behavior |
|---|---|
| Credential | Server-to-Server OAuth: Account ID, Client ID, Client Secret |
| Minimum access | Admin scopes to list users, list/get cloud recordings, download transcript files, and read AI Companion meeting summaries |
| Identity | Synchronization uses the shared S2S app; attribution uses host and participant emails from Zoom |
| Direction and entities | Inbound only: user, meeting, transcript_segment, and meeting_summary. No write-back to Zoom |
| Delivery mode | Incremental polling every 30 minutes is the baseline. Event Subscription webhooks accelerate ingest when webhook_secret is configured |
Steps¶
- In Zoom Marketplace, create a Server-to-Server OAuth app for your
account and add the recording / summary / user scopes required by the
connector (see package
DESIGN.md). - Activate the app and copy Account ID, Client ID, and Client Secret.
- In Threadory, open Connectors → Add connector → Zoom.
- Step 1 — Connect Zoom app: paste the three credentials and select Test connection. Threadory mints a short-lived token, lists active hosts, and samples recent cloud recordings (nothing is saved yet).
- Step 2 — Scope the install: review the healthy summary, choose all meetings or filter by host / email domain / title pattern. The sample list previews which recordings match as you toggle filters.
- Optional (Advanced): transcript storage mode and Event Subscription
Secret Token for webhooks (
/webhooks/zoom). - Select Install Zoom, then Sync now.
Verify the result¶
- synchronization completes successfully in Activity;
- a recent recorded meeting appears in Knowledge with a transcript preview or summary when Zoom produced those artifacts;
- action items become available after
meeting_notesruns (same path as tl;dv).
Common problems¶
| Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials rejected / unhealthy | Wrong Account ID or inactive S2S app | Re-copy credentials from Marketplace App Credentials; confirm the app is activated |
| Meetings hollow (no transcript) | Cloud recording or audio transcript not enabled | Enable cloud recording + transcript for the host; re-sync after the next recording |
| No AI summary entity | AI Companion summary not generated or scope missing | Confirm AI Companion meeting summary is on and the S2S app has summary scopes |
| Unrelated meetings appear | Filter is All or too broad | Narrow host / domain / title filters and re-sync |
| Sync is slow on large accounts | Many active users scanned | Set host filters and lower Max hosts per sync |
Safe disconnection¶
Disconnecting stops future imports but does not automatically remove meetings already stored in Threadory.
- Stop workflows that depend on newly imported Zoom meetings.
- Export required project data.
- Disconnect the Zoom connector in Threadory.
- Rotate or deactivate the S2S app credentials in Zoom Marketplace if they were dedicated to this connector.
- Apply the documented retention process to imported meeting data that must be removed.
Next step¶
Complete your first closed loop (Zoom can replace tl;dv as the meeting source).
