Billing and plans

Outcome

You will move your workspace from the Free plan or the trial to the Team plan by card, manage the subscription and its invoices yourself, and know what changes when a payment fails or the subscription ends.

Before you begin

  • You need the organization role Admin or Owner. Members see the plan and its usage, and are told to ask their workspace owner.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and never reach Threadory.
  • If Settings → Plan & Usage shows a disabled Upgrade button with "contact us", self-serve billing is not switched on for this deployment — write to the address on the contact page instead.

Plans

Plan Price Limits
Free €0 1 project, 3 members, 2 connectors per project, 100 posted reviews per project a month
Team Per project, billed monthly or annually; the current prices are on the pricing page of the website, under Upgrade on Plan & Usage and at checkout 10 projects, 25 members, 10 connectors per project
Agency, Enterprise By agreement — contact us by email Agreed per contract

Prices exclude VAT. A new organization starts with a 14-day trial of Team. The exact limits of your workspace are shown on Settings → Plan & Usage.

Upgrade to Team

  1. Open Settings → Plan & Usage.
  2. Under Upgrade, choose Monthly or Annual.
  3. Pay on the Stripe Checkout page.
  4. You return to Plan & Usage with a confirmation. The plan switches to Team as soon as Stripe confirms the payment, usually within a minute; reload the page if it still shows the previous plan.

The subscription is billed per project: every project in the organization, and at least one. A project you add is billed from the day it is added. A project you delete is not billed from the next billing period, and Stripe credits the unused part of the current one on the next invoice.

When an action stops at a limit the Team plan raises — creating a project, inviting a member, adding a connector on Free — a window names the limit. See upgrade options opens the upgrade block of Plan & Usage. A trial and Team already have Team's limits, so there the action shows its own message instead.

Manage the subscription

  1. Open Settings → Plan & Usage.
  2. Select Manage billing.
  3. On Stripe's billing page, change the card, download invoices and receipts, switch between monthly and annual billing, or cancel.

Plan & Usage shows the subscription status, the billing interval, the end of the current period, and how many projects are billed. Whether the subscription renews or ends at the end of the period is shown on the billing page.

Invoices and receipts are e-mailed by Stripe to the billing address of the subscription. It is set to the e-mail of the admin who last started a checkout; change it on the billing page.

When a payment fails or the subscription ends

Subscription status What happens
Payment overdue The workspace stays on Team while Stripe retries the card. Update the card under Manage billing.
Unpaid Stripe stopped retrying. The workspace moves to Free until the open invoice is paid.
Canceled At the end of the paid period the workspace moves to Free. You can upgrade again at any time.

On Free nothing is deleted. Projects, members and connectors above the Free limits stay as they are; the limits refuse adding more until the workspace is back under them or on Team again. Free also brings a smaller monthly cap on automated actions, at most 100 posted reviews per project a month, a small search re-ranking budget, and the Threadory footer on everything shared outward — reviews, digests, created issues, public document pages and document PDFs.

Deleting the organization cancels its subscription at once. If Stripe cannot be reached, the organization is not deleted; try again later. On a deployment where billing is switched off, an organization that has ever started a checkout cannot be deleted — contact us.
